Foot Care Routine For Multi Week Trips

· 1 min read · April 16, 2026

Feet carry the entire trip, yet they get the least maintenance. A five minute nightly routine prevents the blisters and cracks that end journeys early.

Long days on pavement dry the skin and rub hot spots. Small consistent care keeps the skin tough but flexible, which is exactly what prevents breakdown.

  • Wash and fully dry feet every night, especially between toes.
  • Apply a light moisturizer to heels to stop cracking.
  • Trim nails straight across before you leave home.
  • Cover any hot spot with tape before it becomes a blister.

I keep a tiny foot kit in my bag and use it every night without fail. The trips where I skip it are the trips where my feet eventually file a complaint.
